Everyone will tell you a good venue books up two years out. Mostly true, not always. Some of our dates were simply never taken, and now and then a booked date comes back to us. Off-peak days and Twilight evenings most of all. If you would rather be married in months than years, tell us your rough timing and we will send you the dates we can genuinely offer.
Catering, bar, ceremony spaces and coordination are all in-house, and there are no marquees to build, which is exactly why a shorter run-up works at The BarnYard. A specialist Indian or other ethnic caterer can be brought in on a dry hire of The Arboretum.
Weddings planned in months rather than years are nothing new here. The steps are the same as any other wedding, just closer together, and our coordinators walk you through them in order.
We are licensed for civil ceremonies, which are conducted by the Kent Registrars. We help you arrange it, and the registrar fee is paid to the registrars directly.
Weekdays, Sundays and out-of-season months are where open dates usually sit. The barn is wrapped in fairy lights all year round, so a winter date wants for nothing.
A short engagement changes the planning calendar, not the day itself. You get the same spaces and the same team as a couple who booked two years out.
The short-notice favourite
Of all our packages, Twilight suits a shorter run-up best. A later-in-the-day ceremony in the fairy-lit Apple Barn or out in the Courtyard, then an evening party with our resident DJ. Venue hire starts from £3,450.
There is simply less to arrange. No sit-down wedding breakfast, no table plan, no speeches unless you want them. Couples regularly pull a Twilight evening together on a short timeline, and it loses nothing for it.
The Signature and Intimate packages can work at shorter notice too. It depends on the date, so ask, and we will be straight with you about what is possible.

The Entire BarnYard · 200 daytime + 100 evening
Exclusive use of the entire venue. All buildings and outdoor spaces, with the restaurant closed for lunch service. Complete privacy and access to every area.

We had a Twilight wedding at the Apple Barn in June. The barn itself is so beautiful with fairy lights throughout, and the courtyard is great for photos and for guests to mingle. Tscharna was our coordinator and could not have done more for us, calming any nerves and keeping everything running smoothly. We went for the evening BBQ and had lots of guests praising their meal. Would definitely recommend The BarnYard.
Simply WOW. Such a beautiful and incredible venue. We had the Apple Barn for our ceremony and the pavilion for the breakfast and reception, and both were just truly amazing. All the staff went above and beyond, never rushed anyone, always helped where needed. Worth every single penny.
